SHAME

Hai sobat PPIA Unisa. Kita sering mendengar di film-film “Shame on you!” atau juga kita akan sering mendengar kawan-kawan bule di kampus mengucapkan “Ah, such as shame that I missed your party”.

Yuk kita lihat makna shame satu per satu.

Shame (noun)

Makna 1: A painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behaviour.

Contoh:

  • He felt shame for his lies.
  • How could you come back after all you did to me? Have you no shame?
  • Her crimes brought shame upon her family.

Shame (noun)

Makna 2: A regrettable or unfortunate situation or action.

Contoh:

  • Such a shame that I cannot join my family in this Christmast.
  • She brought a lot of presents for her kid. It is a shame that she left it in the taxi.
  • He really is that good here and it was a shame he did not win the Oscar.

Catatan:

Contoh:

  • She tried to shame him by telling the class about his childhood foolishness.
  • Don’t you dare shame your family by doing this stupid act!

Nah, sudah jelas ya sobat PPIA Unisa?
